Update on school

As much as I'm loving school and my classes, I think I'm going to drop my writing class. I've missed a few classes and now it's taking me forever to catch up. And I'm already doing poorly in my math class. So I think I just need to drop the writing one and take it a little easier. I haven't been in school for 5 years and I guess I forgot quiet a bit. Lol.
So I'm hoping that that will mean I can have a bit more time to pick up on sewing again. I haven't done it in forever and really miss it. Sewing was my way to relieve stress and relax. I need it. And I'm also thinking about buying a serger. I really really want to. So we'll see.

I think that's about it for now. I probably have more to share, but it's starting to get late and I have to work at 5am.

School and Everything Else

I've been in school for about 3 weeks now. I love it. I get out of the how two nights a week for an in-room class. I really like my teacher and alot of my classmates. But I'm having alot of trouble with my math class. I can't believe how much I've forgotten in 5 years. I tried looking into a tutor in the town I live in rather than having to drive 25 miles to see one. And I'm going going in two days a week so I didn't want to have to drive there any more than I had too. So I went to my highschool to see if someone could help me. The guidence lady I talked to said she'd look into it for me. She called back the other day and said that my college had free tutors. So I guess I'll just do that. I'm going to try to arrange it to be on the days I'm already going there.
I'm pretty sick today and probably not going to class (which makes me mad) but I'm still going to try to go in and talk to someone about finding a tutor.

Hmm, what else? I'm still working and all. Although I really wish I didn't have to.

We're also looking into buying a second car. Elliot keeps driving mine and I'm always stuck at home. So I think we'll be getting one for him.

I haven't been able to do much sewing at all lately. With work and school and homework, it's just not happening right now. And it makes mu upset. I love sewing. I made a pair of longies from the Fancycloth Longies Pattern. They turned out soo cute. I want to make a pair for Andrew but I just havent had the time. I think I have spring break next month so maybe I'll take a week off work and go crazy then.

That's all I can think of for now. I know it's been a while since I last posted. My computer had a virus (again). But now it's back so I'll keep up more.

First day of school!

Woo hoo!
Technically today (tuesday) is going to be my first day in a class room. But I started my online class yesterday. It's a math class monday thru friday. And tuesday and thursday evening I have a writing class, which I start later today. I had a lot of running around yesterday. I left my house around 11am to go meet with my uncle. He's my godfather and is really happy to see me going to school. We met for lunch and then went over to the college. He wanted to make sure all my financial aid was in order. Which it's a good thing we went because it turns out I didn't sign something. And thats why I haven't heard anything about it. But they said it was ok. So in the next couple weeks I'll hear more about that. Then we went to the book store. He bought what I needed for my math class and that was it. But last night I find out that there's another book I need. But it wasn't posted. Ugh. But its only $30. So I'm going to go get it later. I'm also probably going to get a backpack and some more notebooks and folders.

I also went to see a good friend that I haven't seen since september. It was soo nice seeing him. He had some problems a few months ago and was arrested and put in a halfway house for violating him probation. I sat there and talked with him for two hours. We talked about all kinds of things. Me going to school, my relationship with Elliot, my kids, how he's been, what really happened the night he got arrested. Elliot was with him that night but didn't tell me what really happened. So I'm upset about that.
But I'm happy because the place he's staying at is less then 10 minutes from the school. And I'll be there twice a week. So I can stop in and see him before or after I go.

I also bought a pattern to make longies and pants for my boys. I haven't made any yet, since I've been trying to get ready for school and everything. But hopefully soon. I even bought some really cute fabric.

So I have quiet a bit going on. I might be cutting back on my hours at work to focus on school and stuff right now. We'll se how it all goes : )

Starting school soon

I can't believe I start school in 2 weeks! It's crazy. I changed things a bit since I last posted. I had registered for a math class that was monday thru friday in the middle of the day. Well I was able to drop in and then register again but this time online. So I can do the class anytime during the day. Now I can still work full time. Since the other class is still in the evening.
I thought I had my financial aid taken care of. I got a letter the other week saying that I needed to turn some papers in, which I had done earlier that same day (ugh) and that I was only registered for 3 credits, which would equal one class. I have 6 credits which is 2 classes. I need to get it figured out or it will massively affect my financial aid. And I'm so worried about cutting it close. I'd do it this week, but the college is closed for christmas break. So I have to do it the week after, which is the week before school starts. Ugh!
But I called my great uncle (also my godfather) and told him I was going to school. He's really happy. He's been saving money for when I go to school. He's said he'd help pay for my books and materials. He also told me to look into other types of aids and assitances. Since I'm technically a single mom, he said I should be able to get all kinds of help. So I'm going to have alot to do the week before school.

Other things, christmas was really nice. I was really worried about not being able to get my boys anything. But they ended up getting enough things that they wouldn't notice. Lol.

I don't know what to do about my relationship anymore. I really do love Elliot. But he is not making smart decisions. At all. And I think he's become comfortable not working. And he thinks he can ask me for money whenever. I'm getting so tired of it. I really need to figure out what to do.

Well, thats about it for now. If I think of anything else, I'll post.

Everyone have a happy new years.

School!!!

I finally got my acceptance letter in the mail today! Oh, I'm so excited. I can't believe that next month I will be a college student. WOW. I also registered for some classes today, since its cutting it soo close, I wanted to get alot done today. I'm only taking 2 classes. I was going to take 3, but one class I'm taking is a prerequisite for the other I wanted to take. Lol. So only two. The math class I'm taking is monday thru friday. From 11:30-12:20. And then I'm taking an Intro to College Writing. That's on tuesday and thursday, from 5:30-6:45pm. So not too bad. I have to redo my work schedule now. My current schedule is 5 days a week, 5am-1pm. I'm worried about potentially not being full time. But with financial aid, and my tax return in febuary, I think it'll be ok. I just have to be smart with my money. Hmm, what else to share....
I haven't made a whole lot of diapers lately. Kind of depressing too. I just don't seem to have the time to go to my grandma's and get anything done. Sad. And I'm also incredibly low on fabric.
I'm having MORE car problems. As if the first $1700 wasn't enough. I had to get a state assisted loan to cover those repairs. And now what? My battery goes. And I know theres a bad connection with the wires too. So a new battery and connection wires. And then, my car hasn't been blowing hot air. So I need anti-freeze. But thats not a major deal. Oh wait, and a headlight. But on a very bright note, Elliot's been working a bit and said he'd buy the battery and wires. Yay! He's gotten a job with snow plowing. Its an on-call job, obviously. But it pays really good.
I'm also going to share a diaper give away in hopes of uping my chance of winning : )
http://fancycloth.blogspot.com/2010/12/fancy-cloth-reindeer-pocket.html
She makes some of the cutest diapers I've ever seen! Seriously. I'm on a sewing board that she's on too. I love her ideas. She is so creative and I just love the way she thinks and comes up with stuff. The give away is for a christmas diaper. It's so cute. It's got a reindeer on the butt. If I win, I'm either going to keep it for my boys, or give it to my aunt and uncle. They cloth diaper their son full time and need new diapers.
Ok. I think that's all I had to share for today. I'll try to update soon. If not before the holidays
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!!!

Stupid computer

So it seems like I've been gone for a bit. Maybe not that long. My computer got a virus and I wasn't able to get it anywhere for a couple days and then it took the guys a while to fix it. But I finally have it back now. I recently got a new diaper pattern. I bought the Rainy Days diaper pattern on a BSOT message board. I've only made on diaper from the pattern so far but I love it. Both of my boys wear the same size setting. It is just a great diaper. I'm possibly going to be getting the Darling Diapers Unlimited soon. We'll see.

Last we I submitted the last things that was needed for my college application. I recieved an email saying the got my application and everything else. Now I'm just waiting for a phone call or whatever saying I can start : )
I'm hoping I get accept to start in January. I really really hope so. I've been looking at classes and such and if I get accepted, I'll probably only start with 3 or so classes. A couple are ones that I'm required to take before other ones.
I think that's about it for now.

Snap Pliers!

So I've been wanting snap pliers since I joined diaper sewing divas. I like snapped diapers. I also like aplix too, but having a snap pliers makes fixing things easier too. Haha.
Anyways, I've been wanting a set. But I just haven't had the spare money to buy them. The other week, my cell phone got disconnected. Ugh. I had a $300 bill because we recently had a family plan and didn't pay the bill. Then we (2 of my brothers) went to the cell store and split off into individual plans. I didn't realize that the old bill would roll over onto my new account. Sucky! So I didn't have the money to pay and yeah, disconnection. When I got paid on friday, I planned on making a payment. But then I figured even if I did make a payment, it wouldn't be enough to get my phone back on. So I decided to keep my paycheck and spoil myself. And to top it off (in a good way) it was my birthday on sunday. So I treated myself to some things. Me and Elliot went to Wal-Mart and I got some really nice earrings. And we got Nathan a toy. And I decided I deserved some snap pliers. I ordered them friday night. And I got them yesterday (monday) afternoon! Holy fastness!! I was so excited. First thing I did (after going through everything) was fix and old pair of flats I have. I bought them from urban outfitters. And then the buttons broke off. So I fixed them. And then later I put snaps on a diaper I had at my house. I keep all my diapers and sewing stuff at my grandma's in their apartment above the garage. I will say it is a much better idea to put snaps on before a diaper is sewn. I'm lucky it was a pocket but it took forever to put snaps on. And I don't think I got them as pressed as I could. Oh well, it turned out awesome.
I don't have any pics of the diaper I did, but I have pics of the pliers and my shoes that I fixed. Anyways, I think that's about it. Oh, pretty soon I'm going to learn how to use a serger. It actually might be a bit because my grandma was going to teach me but she just got home from the hospital. She's ok though.

Ok, time for pics.

I put white snaps on. I only got two colors, white and
lime green.

Well, that's all. Just wanted to share my excitement.
Thanks.
